Our history
How it all began...
U-Explore was inspired by a single conversation with a young person at a Rotherham school back in 2004 when founder Andy Pickles realised that students weren’t necessarily always lacking aspiration but more an awareness of opportunity.
He understood that the business community and the public sector held the keys to unlocking this awareness but realised that business people couldn't be available on demand in school at any given time.
Andy believed that the effective use of technology and rich media content could however enable businesses to be accessible at any given time and so the idea for U-Explore was born. The vision, to connect the business people of today with the employees of tomorow through 24/7 anytime, anywhere access.
U-Explore now offers young people and teachers a purposeful, engaging and relevant approach to business understanding and a reality based approach to careers advice and guidance.
It was originally called 'Investors in Education' and was very nearly named 'Education X'!
