Face to Face Guidance

Bespoke, flexible, collaborative, embedded careers advice

U-Explore provide a bespoke careers guidance service and we will collaborate with you to define a careers professional role to suit your school or college priorities for CEIAG. Our recruitment process provides you with end-to-end support, involvement and control.  We contract directly with the successful candidate to deliver independent and impartial services for your school. This service is available on contracts for over 38 days of support. If you require a more bite-sized or flexible service, take at look at our On-Demand Guidance option.

You know your school and your learners best, that’s why our unique approach puts you in control, selecting the right colleague from a shortlist at interview. Our process enables our guidance professionals to take a more holistic approach to their delivery, becoming involved in wider school life and, ultimately, provide better value and noticeable results in your school, including progression outcomes for your learners that are demonstrable for your next Ofsted inspection. The U-Explore Guidance Services Manager will help you to set quantifiable objectives for the guidance service within a Service Level Agreement, reviewed termly.

Our process
Step One : Needs Analysis
It’s really important for us to get to know your school: what you want to achieve and the type of person you are looking for. We will ask about your current strategies, staff responsibilities, how you’d like another person to fit into your team and the ideal role you need to fill.

 

Step Two : Job Description & Person Spec
We design and produce bespoke documents for the role based on your requirements. Our specifications are then used to create an inspiring and engaging job advertisement.

 

Step Three : Recruitment & Shortlisting
Once you’re happy, the recruitment process is launched and we start to shortlist candidates. The first stage is based on applications, followed by a telephone pre-screen where we get to know the candidate better and create a final shortlist of between two and six.

 

Step Four : Interview
We take care of scheduling, invitations to interview and bespoke questions. The interview is then conducted by your U-Explore consultant and a school representative. We are on hand to advise and support, but the final decision is always made by you.

 

Step Five : Induction
We contract directly with the successful candidate to deliver services for your school – ensuring that they are independent and impartial. We arrange for all required checks (including DBS), and provide a U-Explore induction programme to ensure expertise with U-Explore’s range of online resources. We can also support you to arrange your own welcome and induction session for the new team member.
