U-Explore acquires Plotr

Update from Andy Pickles, CEO U-Explore

We’re delighted to share the exciting news that U-Explore has acquired the employment advice and inspiration website Plotr.

The acquisition will drive much needed consolidation in a fragmented careers market place and investment in improved products and services to guide students through the complex decisions on their journey through education to employment.

This news comes on the back of what has been an incredibly successful year already for U-Explore, which has seen the launch of Start – the UK’s fastest growing careers software now used in over 1,250 schools and colleges. With the current ‘choice overload’ faced by students (as identified in the recent Careers Enterprise Company report), Plotr offers a comprehensive source of relevant and useful information and Start provides the tools to match that content to students based on their suggested career paths. The two services complement each other brilliantly and we’re very much looking forward to the future.

Plotr will continue to trade as a Community Interest Company and become part of the U-Explore family with both the Plotr and Start products continuing as free resources for schools to utilise, ensuring both can be developed and enhanced for the benefit of all young people.
